TAMARA AND TIM - ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

This past Thursday we met Tamara and Tim in Sedona for their engagement shoot. Their wedding will also be held in Sedona at the end of May. We began our shoot at the West Fork Trail in Oak Creek Canyon. It was simply beautiful, with all the trees beginning their bud in vibrant greens. Along for the shoot was their cocker spaniel, Henna. She is 15 years old but still quite spry, seeming to enjoy the hike and the attention.

From Oak Creek we headed up to Merry-Go-Round Rock for sunset. This is one of our favorite places to shoot in Sedona - especially near sunset! Tamara, thank you so much for willing yourself out onto the rock ledges for photos ... hopefully you will find them worth the fright :-). You were both great to work with and we are looking forward to the wedding! See you then!

KRISTA AND RYAN - ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

On Sunday we headed back down to Sedona to photograph Krista and Ryan's engagement shoot. Their wedding will be held at Sassi in Scottsdale in late June. It was an unbelievably beautiful day and the light was perfect! It was great getting to know the two of you and I am looking forward to your wedding ... see you then!

MEGAN AND MATTHEW WEDDING - SEDONA GOLF RESORT

This past Saturday we photographed Megan and Matthew's wedding at the Sedona Golf Resort. Everything was absolutely perfect ... except the wind! It was gusting throughout the day and by the time of the ceremony it was near hurricane status (a bit of an exaggeration, but it gets the point across.) Any chair that wasn't inhabited quickly ended up on its side and the beautiful flowers placed at the alter took a tumble but were salvaged.

Megan and Matthew, thank you so much! We had such a good time ... the reception was a blast! Megan, you were stunning (take a look at the photo of her eyes - just amazing.) Hope you two are having a great honeymoon in Maui - you have to let us know how it is :-).

NORTH CAROLINA AND LOUIE

After leaving Glamis we headed back to Phoenix where I caught a plane the next morning to go visit my family in North Carolina. I stayed for over two weeks, which was really nice. I didn't take many photographs while I was there but I did do a photo shoot for my mom of her dog, Louie ... he is very photogenic :-). The dogwoods were also in full bloom so I took a few photos of that as well. Otherwise I just relaxed :-).

GLAMIS SAND DUNES

The day before Jennifer and Chris's wedding in Yuma we took the time to take some photos of the beautiful desert wildflowers ... some of the best I have seen since moving to Arizona six years ago!!! The day after the wedding we headed over the border into California before heading back to Phoenix. Our intended destination was the Glamis Sand Dunes, which I have always wanted to see. Of course, the one chance I get to see them there would have to be relentless winds and blinding sand storms :-). We tried to get out of the car to take some photos but within about 2 minutes we were forced back in. Sand had already invaded every square inch of our bodies and I know I personally crunched down on sand particles in my mouth for the rest of the day. Gathering a few more shots from safety of the car, we headed back and found a nice flock of blackbirds to photograph - so all was not lost!

JENNIFER AND CHRIS WEDDING - YUMA, AZ

OK ... time to play catch-up on the blogging thing. I have been out of town since March 31st visiting my family in North Carolina (More on that later.) Before leaving we photographed Jennifer and Chris's wedding on March 29th in Yuma, AZ. I know they have probably been dying to see some of the photos, so here you go guys and sorry it took so long :-).

This couple was one of our favorites ... we just loved them. We spent a good deal of time getting to know them during their engagement shoot and felt like they were good friends by the wedding. It was a beautiful one and Jennifer was a real vision - just amazing! Wanting something a little different for their formals, we headed out to the Yuma Territorial Prison (it was once a functioning prison in the early 1900's but is now a state park.) It was a super cool place to shoot!!! Again, thanks guys for being so good to us! It was such a pleasure :-). Hoops and Yoyo rock!!!
